Common Causes of Hip Pain and the
Best Management

Hip pain can be debilitating when it arrives and can arise for a variety of reasons including injury, arthritis, and lack of exercise. However, the good news is that hip pain can usually be effectively managed with the right approach. For example, if a patient suffers from an injury-related cause of hip pain, physical therapy or lifestyle changes such as stretching and/or exercising more can often provide relief.

For patients with arthritis-related pain, over-the-counter medications like ibuprofen are helpful in reducing inflammation. Finally, regular low-impact workouts like walking or swimming paired with adequate rest times can help prevent hip pain that arises from lack of exercise. With the proper techniques in place, most forms of hip pain should begin to dissipate with time and patients can get back to feeling their best selves again!
